Every school is expected to participate in at least one cultural exchange with their sister school each year.
Delivery dates
There are currently two times in the year that PA-MOJA envoys are travelling to Kenya and the OPC. Gillian LaPrairie and family visit in March and a number of other PA-MOJA folks go in July. Please note that there is a limited amount of space and weight available during these trips. If you have exchange material, please let Neil Bryson or Alison Stuart know one month prior to traveling dates, therefore by Feb15th or June 15th of that year. Alternately, each school can mail their own materials to:
Patrick Waigwa
Ol Pejeta Conservancy,
Private Bag,
Nanyuki,10400,
Kenya.
Cultural Exchange Ideas
We believe that the most successful items are ones that are made by students. They are personalized and therefore more authentic. Below are some successful ideas from previous exchanges:
-
Book exchanges (written and edited by students)
- Pen-pal and letter exchanges
- Calendars
- Short story books
- Bracelet gifts
- Post cards
- Photo exchanges
- Pictures, murals and drawings
- A scrap book about your school
- Family history stories
- Laminated pictures
