Biogas Project Project
All biogas projects were completed by the end of January 2013, and in fact one of them is almost full for methane production and by mid February there will be commissioning of these projects. PA-MOJA has done a commendable job for Sweetwaters Secondary School, Endana Secondary School, Loise Nanyuki Girls as well as Thome boys secondary school for the biogas project which will reduce the fuel usage by these schools.

Thome Boys secondary has been really transformed with the biogas project and in fact the school plans to build a toilet just next to the biogas where men urine can be used for methane production. The principal has vouched to see the project running the soonest possible by mobilizing the community to fill up the digester with fresh cow dung. Once again thanks to the PA-MOJA for their assistance to the school.
Loise Nanyuki Girls
This project was completed in mid January and as was previously viewed in the December report the school had started collecting cow dung from the PA-MOJA cows donated to the school. Mrs. Waigwa the principal to this school is still outsourcing for cow dung to fill the digester so that commissioning can commence as soon as possible.
The Digester The piping system
The school is very proud of their biogas project and through the principal, the school has promised to fill the digester by mobilizing the community and parents to fill in the digester so that commissioning again can take effect the soonest. The principal thanks PA-MOJA and feel that they will really transform the lives of many students as well as the amount of firewood used to prepare students meals will drastically reduce.
SweetWaters Secondary School
Having completed the biogas at Sweetwaters secondary, filling of the digester is still taking place and by mid February commissioning will take place as we expect a high amount of methane production. The principal to Sweetwaters secondary is grateful to PA-MOJA and has taken the opportunity to mobilize the community in filling the digester.

The cows project is progressing well in all the four schools especially with the support from the livestock department at OPC who treat these cows and conduct a regular check up on a weekly basis. The cows in all the schools have improved despite the unfavorable weather conditions. All have been confined to the zero grazing system unlike previously where cows depended on the grazing system.

The cows are pregnant with duration of four and six months. On average the cows are producing 11 liters a day this being depicted by the pregnancy and the weather condition.
