One of the two dairy cows purchased by PA-MOJA for Endana Secondary School gave birth to a female calf recently. The mother is now of even greater assistance to the school because she supplies the students with 20 litres of milk daily.
The dairy cow saves the school revenue on the purchase of milk and provides organic manure for both the green house and the biogas project.
Feeding Mode
The cow pastures in the morning then feeds on hay throughout the rest of the day.
General cleanliness
The zero grazing unit is cleaned every day in the morning and the feeds are emptied from the trough. The cows are also sprayed against pests once every week.
