Endana Secondary School is one of the major beneficiaries of the PA-MOJA /Ol Pejeta Conservancy partnership. Students and staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you for their ongoing support. They have contributed to the transformation of Endana Secondary by constructing and installing a computer and science lab with the assistance of long time supporter, AFRETECH.

PA-MOJA, in conjunction with Ol Pejeta Conservancy has helped build classrooms, equipped the library and the laboratory, and purchased cows that are now helping the school get milk and complete the biogas process.
The Community Development Funds by the government and parents have supported the building of boy’s and girl’s dormitories. Most students can now comfortably go through their secondary education while boarding, unlike in the past when they had to walk for very long distances.

The communities that live in the area surrounding the school are mostly subsistence pastoralists. Education, outside of animal husbandry, is not highly valued by many in the community. As pastoralists, they move from one place to another in search of pastures especially during drought and this affects the attendance of many students. Students commonly drop out and resume their education when they can, even if it is years later. Thanks to PA-MOJA, this Endana boarding facility has been a great benefit to the school.

Thanks for the update! When do you estimate that the biogas will start cooking lunch?
Probably in the next few weeks the digester will have been filled and so there will be production of enough gas, so enough for the special jikos to be able to cook.
