Mwituria Secondary Shares Talent with Windermere School

Mwituria Secondary Saying Hi to Windermere School.

Mwituria Secondary students are happy and extremely excited to have Windermere School as their sister school.  The students love sharing their culture with their Canadian sister school and this term, have had more than three online opportunities to do so;  they feel honored to participate and want the friendships that have been created to blossom.

Just before Kenyan students were to head off for the holidays, it was important for them to connect with the students at Windermere by sharing their talents.  The Mwituria teachers divided the students into four houses:  Mt. Kenya House, Mt. Kilimanjaro House, Mt. Longonot House, and Abardares House,  all  named after the great Kenyan Mountains.  The students then presented their talents to the “judges”, in house teams, with the best presentation being sent to Windermere as the “Cultural Exchange Champions” of the term.

Talents at the competition ranged from performances reflecting local culture, to comedy (including impersonating teachers!!!),  to rap, to dance and songs,  to fun sporting events (e.g. the egg on a spoon race).

Mwituria students would really love to hear from Windermere students when school resumes in the new year.  The grade 12 students will be completing their exams on 15th of this month and say they will miss sharing with Windermere School. They wish that this fabulous relationship could continue past high school, and they send Windermere students wishes for much success in their future endeavours.
