After a long consultation between the government leaders, local leaders, and the Endana sponsors, Endana Secondary was finally chosen to be Samuel Etoo’s  Football Academy. Etoo is an international player who plays for the Chelsea Football Club.
This was great news to the entire Endana School as well as the Endana Society. The school is located in a remote part of the country where it is hard to gain recognition. Therefore, this was a big achievement to the entire Endana Community. Samuel Etoo, an international football star, has made the school and its community feel proud, just as he has made its team Chelsea proud. He will fund improvements to the school infrastructure by making a modern field for football training. This training field will be available to all interested students in the communities surrounding it, as well as others from around Kenya. The construction has already begun with a dining hall and a boys’ sanitation block. The construction of the dining hall is going to be one of the biggest achievements since the students have been having their meals in the school field due to lack of a dining hall. Since the school population has also been increasing at high rate for boys, the sanitation block is also going to be very important.
Due to this special identity of the school, the County Government of Laikipia decided to give the school a treat by selecting it to be the site of the final county football competition. This was planned for the day of the ground breaking ceremony, which was held on Sunday, 26th of January, 2014. The ceremony was attended by very prominent guests both from inside and outside of the country; including members from PA-MOJA, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and the Zeitz Foundation. The County Governor of Laikipia, Mr. Joshua Irungu, was the guest of honour. The county football finals were held on that day and the winners were awarded trophies and a sum of money.
It was a big day for Endana Secondary School, and the Endana students were proud to be a part of it.
