Karen Lamuria – PA-MOJA Scholarship Student

Semester 1 2019 Update

Name: Karen Lamuria

School: Mount Kenya Baptist (MKB)

Grade (2019): 5

Supported by: Private Donor

The little girl who arrived in Nanyuki children’s home, severely malnourished with a hard distended belly, open wounds covering her body and scratched arms then four years old has grown to be a beautiful young girl.

Karen who is now 10 years old. She is a very calm, cool and collected girl.

Karen likes Mathematics and Kiswahili and would like to become a teacher in the future. During her free time, she loves playing football.

When schools close, she goes to Nanyuki Children’s home a place she has called home for the past seven years. She is always happy to reunite with her other “siblings” at home. Karen says this is the best time because she gets a chance to learn what others do in their different schools, play together, study together, go to church together and carry out chores together.

Karen would like to thank her donors for the care and support she has been receiving. She knows too well were it not for PA-MOJA, she would still be under the care of her carefree parents who hadn’t even bothered to take her to school.
