Community: Marura

My name is Faith Wanjiru Kariuki. I was born in 2007 and I come from Laikipia county Marura Community. Our community is unique because it is located next to Ol Pejeta where we experience the true beauty of wildlife. It makes me feel proud and special to have a chance to see wildlife now and then which not everyone gets the chance to see.

I am a beautiful and courageous girl who does great things when given an opportunity. During my free time I like listening to music and also exploring the Ol Pejeta to see wildlife. This makes me feel relaxed and refreshed and gives me strength to continue with my journey. When I learn new things about wildlife it makes me feel like I am in my world where everything is great and joyful.

Currently I study in Loise Nanyuki Girls High School. I am a lady who has potential in her studies because I am hardworking. I showed this in passing my K.G.P.E and I was chosen by PAMOJA and given a scholarship. My dream career is being an accountant. I want to be an accountant because I was inspired a lot by a lady from our village who used to provide food and clothes to the orphans. She did all these with her salary as an accountant. This inspired me a lot and I hope that I can be able to help others if only I would also become an accountant. This has been my dream since I was a child and I am still working hard to achieve my dream career. I take every good opportunity that will open my doors to Success. I want to go to Egerton university. My choice is because I think this is where I will get the best accounting studies and attain my masters so I can go back and help those orphans like the lady who inspired me. But the great reason I want to study there is because my role model studied accounting there.
