My name is Gladys Chao. I was born in 2006 into a family of six siblings, being the sixth one in my family. I attended Thaura Primary School from Grade One up to Grade Eight, where I took my KCPE exams and scored 329 marks, ranking among the best in the school.
I secured my scholarship during the interview process when they recognized my strong desire to become a doctor and saw my commitment to achieving this goal for my family. Since childhood, I’ve admired doctors in their white coats, an image that stuck with me. Moreover, I’m determined to become a doctor due to the poor treatment some doctors provide, leading to the unfortunate deaths of many patients.
My dream is to join Nairobi University, believing it to be the best place to pursue my goals. It offers the course I aspire to undertake in the future. I envision a bright future for myself, aiming to positively impact many lives.
Netball is my hobby, allowing me to travel to various parts of my country during my primary school years, something I find unbelievable. I’ve received numerous awards as the best player in these games.
I manage my time effectively since engaging in this sport. During my free time, I join my home team, enhancing my social skills and exchanging ideas. I never waste time; when not playing, I dedicate myself to my studies. Additionally, it contributes to physical growth and provides a refreshing break from my academic pursuits.
In my leisure, I enjoy cycling, competing with friends. I also appreciate learning about life lessons and overcoming barriers that might hinder my goals.
Netball remains a significant part of my leisure time, being my favorite game.
