I am Alkano Boru, the youngest in my family of four siblings. My family strongly supports me in my studies and in life. I come from the Tangi Nyeusi community, a place known for its unity and peace, a community I am proud to live in.
During my free time, I enjoy listening to music, especially Bob Marley songs. They uplift me when I feel hopeless or sad. I also love playing basketball, inspired by my admiration for the famous NBA star, Michael Jordan.
I’m pursuing a career in medicine at one of the world’s most renowned universities, Oxford University. It has been my dream since I was in second grade, and I believe that with hard work, I can make it to Oxford University.
Biology is my favorite subject because I have a genuine passion for it. I aspire to become a doctor who can eradicate lung cancer, a threat affecting the entire world.
My greatest dream is to establish a group similar to the PA-MOJA group. This group would assist underprivileged students in pursuing their dreams, including studying in the United States.
My biggest fear is letting down my scholarship sponsors, which motivates me to work harder every day. I aim to rank among the top students in Kenya in my K.C.S.E. exam.
One of my main challenges is having a negative attitude towards certain subjects. I’m dedicated to overcoming this challenge as it might hinder me from fulfilling my dream, the dream that the PA-MOJA members inspired me to pursue with ease.
Maintaining focus in my academics is crucial to me. I aim to change my family’s livelihood and positively impact the entire community.
I express my gratitude to the entire PA-MOJA group for granting me this opportunity. I am determined to make the most of it and transform my future.
