Yvonne Gakii is the firstborn in her family of three children. She lives with her parents. Her parents work as casual labourers and they also farm a small piece of land where they plant food crops. She is a very hardworking girl and has always been on top of her class. She has been a leader in her school and a prefect in her class.
“The opportunity for me to join highschool was just a dream because it was clear my parents were not capable of paying my school fees. I felt miserable because I worked very hard and I have always tried to be a role model to my friends.I can not imagine how life would have turned out for me if I did not go to high school”
She would like to be an actuarial scientist after completing her studies. She also loves arts and especially drawing. She is very thankful and is sure her life will never be the same again.
