Name: Brian Wamweya Mumbi
School: Nanyuki High School
Community: Mirera
My name is Brian Wamweya, and I am a beneficiary of the PA-MOJA project. I come from the Sweetwaters community, born in 2009, with a younger brother whom I love dearly. My family has played a significant role in raising me.
I have a strong passion for sports, particularly volleyball, which I play for my school team. I began playing volleyball in Class Four and participated in my first game during Class Six, advancing to the Regionals, albeit we were defeated. Volleyball demands a lot of fitness, so I engage in rigorous exercises to stay in shape for the technicalities of the game.
Academically, I am fascinated by Biology. The discoveries of biologists like Carolus Linnaeus inspire me. I dream of making my own discoveries and etching my name in the record books. I particularly enjoy reading books about the intricate workings of animal bodies.
My aspiration is to pursue Civil Engineering at Egerton University. My phone is filled with various architectural designs and technical drawings. In school, I study Building Construction as a technical subject, which prepares me for my future career. I aspire to design roads, houses, and bridges for the betterment of my community and future generations.
Music is a significant part of my life, and I always listen to it during my free time. I am a proud member of my school choir, and we even qualified for the Nationals in music festivals. I’m also a member of a dance crew called Robox Dance Company. Both music and dance aid in relaxation and stress relief. Music, especially, helps in expressing feelings and acts as a remedy for mental stress.
Above all, I am immensely grateful to my family and the PA-MOJA project for being unwavering pillars of support in my life. They have consistently stood by me in times of need, always coming to my rescue. I wish them a long life and eternal happiness.
