Christine Njeri Githuku

Community: Weru-ini

School: Gatero Girls High School

INTRODUCTION:

Christine was born in 2010 as the last born in a family of 5 children. Her parents are both casual labourers who look for odd jobs in their community. She joined St. Mary Thome Academy in grade 5 and worked hard there to be able to score 333 in her KCPE exams. This allowed her to be admitted to Gatero Girls High School in Western Laikipia.

Christine says that she wanted a scholarship because “I want to join a better school, which my parents can’t afford because of their sources of income. I want to join a better school with better learning participants and teachers which will help me achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.”

Her principal says that Christine is talented academically and that she is a disciplined and hardworking student. She is also involved in netball and other school clubs.

We are excited to have Christine as part of the PA-MOJA scholarship program and wish her all the best as she starts her high school journey.
