Caroline comes from a village called Kijabe, where she lives with her parents, Mary Wambui and 3 siblings. Her mother takes care of her by herself and this takes a toll on her finances especially seeing she has to support her siblings as well. They rely on small scale farming which is very unpredictable due to unfavorable weather conditions.
“I hope to go to university and pursue accounting and help out my whole family.” says Caroline.
Her mother has great hopes for her children and is happy that Caroline will now be able to continue with her education now that she has been awarded the PA-MOJA Ol Pejeta scholarship. Her primary school headteacher describes her as hardworking, a student leader and very responsible.
“When I am not studying, I love playing volleyball and I promise to work very hard in high school. Thank you very much”- Caroline.
