Titoo in Form 2 (Grade 10)
Name: Kitengel Titoo Lesanjier
Community: Depatas
School: Loise Nanyuki Girls’ Secondary School
My name is Kitengel Lesanjier Titoo. I was born in 2005. I come from Tanginyeusi community. I am from a family of thirteen children, I being the second last. My big sister inspires me to become who I have always wanted to become because she always reminds me that I can do it and no man is limited. Moreover, she always makes me smile since she is the funniest in our family . One thing I love a lot about my family is that they are pastoralists; that is they keep cattle and goats. I enjoy grazing them because it gives me an opportunity to go and have a view of nature outside our home.
I spend most of my leisure time listening to music and watching Mexican soaps. I like listening to music due to the fact that it makes me feel relaxed and I like watching Mexican soaps because I like their fashion and how they speak. In addition to that, I also spend my leisure time watching wrestling. Some of the wrestlers like Sammy Zayn encourage me never to give up despite having tried and lost as many times as possible. He has lost many matches, but has never given up on his career.
My favourite pet is a dog. Ever since I was a kid, I always enjoyed playing around with our dogs, feeding them and watching them as they fed until they were done. I always feel secure whenever I’m in the company of a dog because of their role of guarding. I have always dreamt of owning my own dog one day. I would be very happy indeed.
My hobby is cooking because I am a person who likes trying different dishes. I always make sure that I cook my family what they have never eaten at least twice a week. Of course, my mother helps with this because she makes sure that we have the ingredients for what I want to cook.
I come from a community where no one has ever taken a computer course which really inspires me to become a software engineer. Ever since I was a kid, I had always imagined myself having developed an app to solve the problem of marginalisation in the northern part of Kenya. A lot of leaders in Kenya tend to concentrate more on the other parts of Kenya, forgetting the Northern part. In addition to that, the fact that I do not like working in an office inspires me to become a software engineer so that I can work from home.
